We leave in the early morning along the picturesque roads of the sea on one side and mountains on the other to Arkadi Monastery which dates back to 1562 one of the most prosperous monasteries.
From there we drive through the mountains to Rethymno for an hour to stroll around the narrow roads and the Venetian Port or a coffee break by the sea.
Georgioupoli is the next stop for a cool swim or a walk around the beautiful river and along the rocky path to the church in the sea.
We continue our drive along the beach road to Kalyves to the Koumos Stone House which not only has walls, floors, and roofs decorated in stone but also full remarkable sculptures. Built by one man by hand who started in 1990 and 15 years later turned into an extensive garden of stones, rocks, and pebbles.
Lunch could be eaten here or we could carry on to Chania for lunch and to explore the narrow streets of the old town and the natural beauty of the picturesque Port.
